Pre-Wedding Photography: Your Story, Styled with Intention

Your big day is a few months away. You have mementos from your proposal shoot and are still soaring from sharing the news about your engagement with your loved ones, but you’re ready for an experience to continue your love story. Choosing to work with a pre-wedding photographer differs from your engagement shoot: it’s an opportunity to get more creative, more immersive, and more intentional.

What is a pre-wedding photoshoot?

A pre-wedding shoot allows you to capture the moments before your big day in an elevated, authentic way. In many ways, it stands as a moment worth preserving before you’re exchanging vows in front of a crowd. This may be one of the few chances to celebrate each other without timelines, guests, or wedding day logistics before the festivities begin.

Usually, a pre-wedding shoot photographer works with you a few weeks to a few months before your wedding and stands apart from your earlier couples or proposal sessions. Whether you envision your shoot in Seoul, other locations in South Korea, or are planning a destination session in Japan, Bali, Singapore, Hong Kong, or elsewhere across the Asia-Pacific, I help remove any decision fatigue in a season that is full of to-do lists. Booking a pre-wedding photographer means you don’t have to figure out creative details alone.

Pre-wedding shoots are perfect for couples who want something more intentional than a traditional engagement session and an experience that feels uniquely their own.

What to expect

As your pre-wedding shoot photographer, I take this as an opportunity for a deeper dive into what makes you, as a couple, tick. This could entail taking more time to learn your personalities and interests, collaborating on a mood board, recommending color palettes or wardrobe styles, and helping you scout locations that reflect your vision. Pre-wedding shoots may also include wardrobe changes and travel between locations.

From there, I’ll plan timing around the best natural light, prepare a shot list, and edit your final gallery for consistency and authenticity so it will remain timeless for years to come. Throughout the experience, every detail is approached with intention, resulting in photographs that feel beautifully editorial while remaining true to who you are. You’ll feel like a star for the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

How would you define your style?
Natural, timeless, and romantic. I edit in a clean, modern style that will remain as vibrant and relevant in 20 years as it is now.

How far in advance should I book a photographer for a pre-wedding shoot?
My schedule tends to fill up quickly, so please plan ahead to ensure your date is saved on the calendar. I recommend securing your date at least 3 weeks in advance if you have a specific date and time you want to have your shoot.

Do you travel internationally?
Yes! Currently based in Seoul and available for local proposal, pre-wedding, wedding, and event photography throughout South Korea, I also cover and am available for destination shoots across the Asia-Pacific region.

How are travel costs handled?
Travel costs are built into the quote. After our initial consultation, you will receive a detailed breakdown of all costs, so you know exactly how much is being allocated for travel.

How much is the booking retainer?
The booking retainer is approximately 50% of the total session’s cost.

When is the remaining balance due?
Your remaining balance will be due after your pre-wedding shoot session and before I send the photo gallery.

Can packages be customized?
Yes! I am committed to offering highly customized packages to ensure you get everything you need.

What happens if our timeline changes?
I aim to be as flexible as possible with my clients and will do my best to accommodate revised scheduling. However, please note that retainers are non-refundable and serve to help secure your exact date and time, and there is no guarantee I’ll be able to offer the exact date or time change being requested.

How many edited images will we receive?
This will depend on your session’s duration and what we discuss during your initial consultation.

How long does editing take?
I will aim to have your photos ready within 2 weeks, though this may vary depending on your shoot’s complexity, my workload, and travel.

How will our photos be delivered?
I use WeTransfer to send you your digital gallery.

What happens if it rains or plans change?
We can either reschedule or choose to move to an indoor venue for your shoot. If you’re traveling and absolutely cannot reschedule, we will discuss options and next steps depending on your specific circumstances.

Do you work with wedding planners?
Yes! I love collaborating with anyone who’s part of your wedding, including other vendors.

Can we request specific shots or create a shot list?

Yes. After our initial consultation, you will receive an itemized quote detailing exact costs that I have built into it.
