This Extraordinary Ordinary Life

Life isn’t the way it’s seen in movies. That may seem obvious, but at times, our minds may like to slip into living vicariously through Hollywood movies. Entertainment isn’t a bad thing, but unrealistic expectations that may develop can cause unnecessary stress and frustration.
This life is beautiful as it is. Even the celebrities, musicians, and artists who’ve been revered for a long time, have all come from an “ordinary” background. Regardless of money, family name, or neighborhood, everyone has lived within this same environment we call Earth. Everyone has a hometown. Everyone has a time they grew up. Everyone has lived in this extraordinary world. However, it’s tempting to think that celebrities are born of different material.
This life is constantly amazing, complex, and versatile. There are no words to describe how elaborate and detailed everything is. The order and laws of the universe are so intricate and detailed; scientists still cannot comprehend exactly why everything is the way that it is.
Despite the wonders that surround us, it’s very easy to get lazy, disinterested, and feel as if life has become mundane. Life is to be lived. It’s not an experience we’re supposed to drag ourselves through. There are risks, challenges, and difficulties that will arise along the way. However, those things are just temporary and serve as a purpose to develop us along the way.
Things become “ordinary” because we become so used to seeing them all the time. It’s interesting on how our minds become so accustomed to everyday miracles that we often just dismiss something as unworthy of attention. Work, school, and bills are often something we hate. What if we decided that we didn’t need to create a corporate system in order to get discipline, meaning, and progress into our lives?
Life is unusual and incomparable to anything made by coincidence. Have you thought about why you may be here and why things are so orderly? It’s hard to analyze the beauty of nature and think that God doesn’t exist.
We shouldn’t seek an experience of the “extraordinary” because we’re already living in the extraordinary. Life doesn’t require us to achieve a higher level of superiority, understanding, or meaning by becoming someone famous. Life is already an adventure and we can be stars in our own eyes.
What may be difficult to overcome is feeling needy or desiring validation. We easily just follow whatever is popular in hopes that it will lead us to some comfort of happiness or security. Life is an open book and you need to explore who you are, regardless of whether it is popular or not. Popularity does not give a value to importance or truth.
God created us to be unique people and we’re free to explore the boundaries of our existence. Popularity often brings expectations. It’s hard to be autonomous when you start to feed off the energy of public validation. Do what’s true to your nature and explore what’s within by exploring what talents God gave to you. Find truth, not the most convenient or alluring looking path.
